Having subdued the Germans in Sicily in 1943, the Allies succeeded in advancing further into the Italian mainland.
Vast parts of Italy had already been destroyed.

The population suffered from hunger and thirst. In the coarse of the “Battles of Supplies” the re-conquest of the seaport Annzio was of great strategic importance.

In addition, the Allies planned to attack German ports starting from their bases in France and Great Britain.

The end of the Germans’ occupation of France was in reach when the allies reconquered Paris in 1944.
However, only due to additional attacks coming from the Atlantic they succeeded in completely defeating the German troops in France.
The “Red Ball Express” played a decisive role in freeing the country. By means of the probably greatest and at the same time fastest relief operation of history, America shipped hundreds of tons of badly needed foods and weapons to France.

The allies arrive in Paris. The French people hope for an early end of the Germany occupation.
Due to additional attacks coming from the Atlantic Ocean, the Germans are defeated in France.

1944: Red Ball Express - by means of a gigantic logistic relief operation America sends food and weapons to its troops in France.
The Germans are badly organized and lose the “battle of supplies” which plays a significant role in their defeat in France.

Due to the Battle of the Bulge in 1944 the allies succeeded for the first time since the beginning of the Second World War to push the Germans back within the original frontiers of Germany.

Shortly after the allied troops conquered Berlin whereupon Germany surrendered on May 7th 1945.

However, the tide turned when the British, American and French troops combined their forces after America had joined the war.
Therefore, the German troops were driven out of Africa by every other battle they lost from 1942 to the final crucial fight in Tunis.
The allies intended to launch a naval attack at the Germans from three sides.

1942: In North Africa American troops participate in the warfare for the first time - 250,000 German and Italian soldiers are captured. Having overpowered the Germans the sea routes are free to attack Germany.
In the beginning, the Germans are able to ward the allies’ aggresses off.
However, they are eventually pushed back to the coast until they are completely beaten.

The battle of the Solomon Islands in 1942 as well as the conquest of Palaus in 1944 are the only two examples of countless legendary battles during the Pacific War.

Joining the war Japan proceeded the war of conquest throughout the Pacific nearly Unhamperedly until 1941.

However, the frivolous attack of Pearl Harbor and the immediate entry of the Americans into the war heralded their slow but irresistible downfall.
