Ronnie, a gambler, owes his partner McFee a debt. He tries to repay this by taking the rap for McFee, when he accidentally shoots one of his workers. Ronnie escapes and seeks refuge on a boathouse and soon falls in love with Joan, the owner’s daughter. When Ronnie cannot hide his identity any longer, Joan persuades him to come clean with the police. When the police eventually catch up with Ronnie, McFee owns up to the murder. But, will the police believe his story?

This film is unique in that it marks the beginning of 18-year old Ann Rutherford’s screen career and also the end of Mascot Pictures as independent movie producers. It provides lively entertainment and viewers are seldom caught biting their lips.
